National Museum (Muzium Negara)

National Museum, a beautiful building featuring traditional Malay architecture stands proudly in the heart of Kuala Lumpur as the country's historical heritage buildings. Now the National Museum of the recently completed upgrade in 2008, to appear more attractive and interactive lead visitors to explore the history of Malaysia began from the prehistoric era to Malaysia today.

The National Museum is headed by a Director and placed under the administration of the Department of Museums, Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture.

Objectives

The objective of the National Museum are as follows: 

• Conduct research on materials and artifacts that have historical importance to the country;
• To carry out such activities permuziuman researching, collecting, recording and publishing the history of the country's heritage;
• Demonstrate and utilize national heritage artifacts for the purpose of public education to the construction of identity and nation building, and; 
• Make it as one of the country's tourism product.

How to get the National Museum
Bass
No buses RapidKL buses. 115 (RM 2.00 per day fee for KL City Shuttle) from KL Sentral. Bus services in KL Hop-Hop-off is also available and rest for the National Museum is at a bus stop No. 12.
KTM Commuter and Rapid Kelana Jaya Line (known as Putra LRT)
From KL Sentral, you need to run in the range 0.5 km to the National Museum of the slip road has been determined by following the signs that are provided.
Car Park
Convenient parking area available at the National Museum. Payment rate of RM2.00 to RM 1.00 for cars and motorcycles.
Food & drink
Feast on a wide variety of food dishes and snacks are available at the National Museum Cafeteria. Food and beverages are not allowed to enter the museum.
Facilities

Taking pictures
Photography and video are allowed to take in the exhibition galleries for personal use only. For commercial purposes is, please seek permission by writing to the Director General, Department of Museums Malaysia. Museum Shop
Located on the ground floor near the exit at the National Museum. There are several interesting collections that can be purchased at a reasonable price, such as a collection of books, video compact disk and can be made as a remembrance and a gift while visiting the National Museum. Every material has a significant sale of its own history.

There are many interesting locations near the National Museum of which are Lake Park, National Monument, the Bird Park and the Lake Gardens.
Opening Hours and Entrance Fees

    * Opening Hours: 9.00 am to 6.00 pm daily.
    * The museum will be closed on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya Haji.
